County Youth Lead
Help young people make their voices heard and make Scouts even better. As County Youth Lead, you’ll drive youth shaped Scouting across Greater Manchester East, working in partnership with the County Lead Volunteer and the Chair of the Board of Trustees.
What you’ll do
- Make sure the County programme is shaped by young people
- Create ways for young people to share their views, often through a County Youth Forum
- Promote the YouShape Award and top awards
- Bring District Youth Leads together to share ideas and support each other
- Make sure young people know about every opportunity open to them, including what they can do when they turn 18
- Sit on the Board of Trustees, keeping young people at the heart of every decision
What you’ll get
Skills that look seriously impressive on a CV or university application, including leadership, communication, organisation and governance. You’ll have support every step of the way from the County Lead Volunteer and the UK Youth team, and you’ll join more than 600 Youth Leads across the UK.
“Applying to become a Youth Lead was genuinely one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.”
