It is with great excitement that we announce our very first Greater Manchester East County trip to the International Scout Centre, Kandersteg, Switzerland.

 

Kandersteg International Scout Centre is located in the Swiss Alps, with breath taking scenery, described by many as a mini Jamboree which gives Scouts from all over the world the opportunity to come together, make friends and embrace the values of Scouting.

 

Below is a summary of the 10-day trip that we are planning; we have the opportunity to take 80 young people, Scout aged 12+ (at the time of departure) and Explorer Scouts. As well as 14 adult leaders.

 

• When: 13th - 22nd August 2026

• Travel arrangements: Return Journey by Coach (& Ferry) from a central location in the county

• Accommodation: Tented Village within Kandersteg International Scout Centre

• Food and drinks: All provided

• Activities: All provided (Adventurous activities, day tips, sightseeing & exploration opportunities)

• Insurance & Medical Care: Provided from when deposit is paid.

 

Cost:

• Young Person: £1,550

• Adult Leader:  £750

 

Closing date for expression of interest will be Monday 20th January 2025 with the initial deposit of £75 to be paid by Friday 31st January 2025. Payment schedule will be sent out to all once initial deposit has been paid.

 

Please send this out to all Scout and Explorer Sections, we are happy to welcome all young people that are eligible, their own leaders do not need to attend as there will be enough leaders from around the County to stick with ratios and provide the required level of care & support.
