Is volunteering as part of the GME team right for you?
We often look for people join the County team that supports Scouting across the area. The team supports and develops a quality Scouting programme for the young people of Greater Manchester East by working with leaders, administrators, managers, trustees and others. Our role includes strategic management, specialised support, advice, activity management, administration, training, governance and leadership of over a thousand volunteers.
We consider applications from anyone over the age of 18 who meet the criteria. This includes those current members of The Scout Association and those who are not part of Scouting currently.
How does the application process work?
An individual may apply using the simple formn above. Email or face to face applications are also accepted along with nominations (normally best to check with them first!). For some roles the search team may also identify suitable candidates. Normally there will be a closing date for applications and nominations.
The serach group will then shortlist and may decide to interview candidates. The Appointmnets Approval Committee will need to approve all appointments. This may involve a meeting.
Successful applicants will meet their line manager to agree a remit or plan of activity and will also be given guidance about induction and training.
