The organiser of the training (learning manger/course director) will:
- confirm that presenters are available and know what is expected of them
- arrange for refreshements to be available (tea and coffee box at county office - check its replenished)
- check all resources are available for the sessions (centrally held at county office)
- check participant numbers and requirements
- arrange for keys / access if needed
- set up the training room appropriatly and arrange for easy access for participants
- check that presenters are comfortable with sessions
- welcome participants, cover domestics and expectations
- support as necessary, resolve problems
- write witness statements for new presenters and discuss feedback, ensuring learning is active and engaging
- review evaluations collected post session
- debrief team and manager
- if acting as a presenter, the organiser may wish to have a training assistant
The presenter will for getting started modules:
- familiarise themselves with the standard powerpoint, notes and activity material
- ensure they know the latest updates in terms of policy and resources from The Scout Association
- keep to the pace moving, engaging learners at every opportunity
The presenter will for all other modules modules:
- review the standard trainers notes view national scheme trainers notes
- prepare a presentation plan taking account of time allocated and associated resources
- share plan with the organiser
- deliver the module approriatly
- take account of the skills identified through the trainers personal learning plan
- undertake an informal evaluation of the learning from the session
- reinforce the concept of validating the module while doing the role
- review the session with the organiser
