Beaver Scouts

Keys to success for Beaver Scout Colonies:

  1. Review your programme annually, checking coverage of all zones and methods.

  2. Involve Beaver Scouts with a forum such as Log Chews, listen to their views.

  3. All leaders (including Young Leaders) take an active part in running the colony.

  4. Give Beaver Scouts the chance to meet other Beaver Scouts in other Colonies.

  5. Offer a residential experience to Beaver Scouts.

Role of County

The remit of the team is to support and develop a quality Scouting programme for the young people in the area. To help us focus upon what will make a difference across the County we focus on 5 areas:

  1. Widening opportunities for young people with events
  2. Programme and activity support – ensuring quality Scouting for all young people
  3. Targeted programme development support – focused on areas
  4. Recognition for our young people and adults
  5. Involving young people
We do this by supporting ADCs, holding County Support Team meetings open to all, organising key events and leading on new initiatives.
