Scouts: Troop Leadership Weekend

Posted by benbowen on August 21, 2011

Troop Leadership is about building a strong leadership team within your Scout Troop by using the skills and knowledge of adult leaders and young people who are in leadership roles.

This is a fun learning weekend for Patrol Leaders/older Scouts and Scout Leaders together.

Its aim is to help improve the quality of Scouting in your Troop by helping PLs/older Scouts and Scout Leaders to work in partnership.  All the sessions are fun, interactive and creative.

The weekend will help you to:

  • Recognise features of successful Troop Leadership
  • Work in partnership to lead the Troop
  • Value everyone’s contribution to Troop Leadership
  • Identify resources
  • Help with programme planning
  • Find out what your job as a PL/Scouter is all about

Dates:              Saturday 1st to Sunday 2nd October 2011

Venue:              Linnet Clough Scout Camp (indoor accommodation provided)

Times:              9:00am Saturday – 3:00pm Sunday

Cost:                £30 (accommodation, meals, activity materials and resources are all included)

Places are limited to a total of 36 and so the maximum number of participants per troop is 1 Leader and 3 PLs/older Scouts. The recommended minimum age is 13 years.
